Garage demolition and removal in Dorset

Garage removal
from start to finish
A garage is one of the smaller jobs we take on, but it still needs planning. Access is often tight, the garage may sit close to a neighbour's boundary, and older garages can contain asbestos. We survey first, then take it down safely and leave the area clear.

About our site clearance service
How garage removal works
-
Free site survey
We look at the garage, what it is built from, how we can get to it and whether the base needs to come out.
-
Written quote
You get a clear written quote. If there are bricks or other materials worth reclaiming, that value is reflected in the price.
-
Asbestos dealt with first
If the roof or panels contain asbestos, it is identified and removed by the right specialists before the rest of the garage comes down.
-
Demolition
The garage is taken down in a planned order, with the area kept safe throughout.
-
Base removal
If you want the space cleared completely, the concrete base or hardstanding is broken out and taken away.
-
Clear and recycled
Waste is sorted and over 90% of materials are recovered and reused. The area is left clear and level.
Questions about garage demolition
How much does garage demolition cost?
It depends on the size of the garage, what it is built from, whether the roof contains asbestos, whether the base needs removing and how easy the garage is to reach. We start with a free site survey and then give you a written quote.
Do I need permission to demolish a garage?
A building of about 50 cubic metres or less, measured externally, doesn't need a Section 80 notice, which covers most single garages. Larger garages usually do, and we prepare and submit the notice for you. If the property is listed or in a conservation area, check with the council's planning team first.
What if my garage roof contains asbestos?
Many older garages have asbestos cement roof sheets. They must be identified and removed safely before the garage is demolished, and some asbestos work can only be done by a contractor licensed by the HSE. Let us know when you book your survey if you think your garage roof contains asbestos.
Can you remove the concrete base as well?
Yes. Concrete bases and hardstanding can be broken out and removed, and the ground levelled, so the space is ready for whatever comes next.
What happens to the materials?
Waste is sorted and over 90% of materials are recovered and reused. Sound bricks are reclaimed where they can be, and all metals are recycled through approved facilities.
How soon can you start?
We're available seven days a week and can often fit in urgent or short-notice jobs. Smaller garages that don't need a Section 80 notice can usually be booked in sooner.
